ALOA and the Institutional Locksmith
ALOA represents its members, many of whom are institutional locksmiths. This is the place to respectfully discuss their policies and decisions, their certification and training, etc. when you don't feel comfortable posting it on the ALOA forum yet. Let's try to keep personalities out of this one unless it is absolutely vital to the benefit of our group!

LIST Council Peer Review
Regularly, the LIST Council adds new words to its Glossary of terms. However, prior to being adopted, they are offered for Peer Review.
In other words, review by people like you for accuracy and appropriateness to the trade.
This is one of the places it appears.

Questions and Discussion on Life Safety and Fire Codes
This is the place to discuss the code issues we all face from day to day. ADA, Fire and Building Codes can be as clear as mud, and another opinion is usually really welcome. Even ICBO 2003 is being modified by some states in the adoption process, so keeping up with requirements alone can be difficult.

Classroom Security (CRM) Locks
These locks, whether knob, lever, mortise or exit device, all function similarly. They permit the proper user to lock the outer cylinder from the inside without opening the door, by using a key or high security device in the inside. Inside is always free for exit and cannot be locked without key or special device.
